How to setup Paypal to work with your ecommerce website

Step 1.

Once you have created or logged in to your Paypal Business Account click on the 'My Business Setup" link at the right side of the page

You now need to setup your payment solution.
Paypal offers you different ways to get paid and to choose the payment solution you need click on the "View all Payment solutions" link.
Note: Dont click the "Start Now" button.

Step 3.

You now need to choose a payment solution.
Paypal offers you different ways to get paid, the one you want is "Website Payments Standard". To choose this click the "Add Product" button.

Step 4.

You now need to tell Paypal how to handle payments that come from your website.
To do this, click the "Start Now" button in the Set up my payment solution box.

Step 5.

Nothing to change on this page, so you now must click the "Customise my buyers review page" link at the bottom right.

Nothing to change on this page, so you now must click the "Edit" link at the Auto return section.
Please Note: You dont need to setup the GST rates, or Shipping Calculations as these are handled by your ecommerce website. You can add your logo and setup how your business name appears on your customers credit card statements by clicking on the appropriate "Edit" links.

There are only a few options to change on this page and then your finished.

Auto Return
This tells Paypal to return your customer to your ecommerce website after the payment has been successfully processed. Set this to "on"

Return URL
This tells Paypal what page on your website to return your customer to after the payment has been successfully processed.
The URL should be http://www.yourdomain.com.au/checkout_success.php Note: yourdomain.com.au is your websites domain name

Set this to "Off"

Set this to "Off"

Paypal Account Optional
Set this to "On"

Step 8.

To finish setting up your Paypal, click the "Save" button and YOUR DONE!
